Jay K. Greyson

Managing Director and Principal

Mr. Greyson brings to Vetus Partners over 20 years of combined investment banking and business experience during which he completed numerous merger & acquisition transactions, including a significant number of cross-border deals. Prior to joining Vetus Partners, Jay founded and led the Automation, Controls & Electrical ('ACE') practice group at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, served as the global practice leader within the Global M&A organization, and has advised over a dozen leading distributors throughout the world. Jay has served public corporations such as Cookson Group plc, Corrpro Companies, Eaton Corporation, and EMBARQ Corporation; and privately held businesses in industries ranging from ACE-related markets to distribution.

Prior to joining BGL, Jay was the General Manager of Universal Systems, the United States' leading provider of highly engineered gas handling components sold primarily to the appliance industry. Prior to Universal, Jay held positions in engineered products businesses including:

  • Vice President and General Manager of Cleveland Motion Controls, Inc., a $75+ million manufacturer of electo-mechanical products and systems;
  • General Manager & National Sales Manager for the Motion Control Division of Yaskawa Electric Corporation, one of the world's largest manufacturers of automation, controls and electrical products, where he was responsible for the profitability and operations of the $100MM+ North American motion control business (US operations effectively operated as a master distributor for North America); and
  • District Applications Engineer for the industrial products businesses at Westinghouse Electric.

During his many years in industry, Jay developed and managed two North American distribution and sales organizations as well as gained extensive experience in manufacturing and marketing electrical and/or engineered components, assemblies and systems. His industry experience includes turnaround management, business development, sales, marketing, product management, engineering, operations and general management.
