Analyst

Analysts at Vetus Partners are important contributors to the firm and are provided with the opportunity to accelerate their learning curve by working directly with senior banker-led financial advisory teams. You will participate in client and banker meetings and gain live transaction experience by working on a variety of assignments on a number of transaction teams. Importantly, our senior professionals are committed to helping graduating Analysts take the next step in their professional careers in investment banking, private equity, corporate business development, graduate school, or other endeavors.

Analyst responsibilities include financial modeling, business analysis and valuation, business development presentations, assisting in the drafting of offering memoranda, company and industry research, transaction specific analyses and presentations.

General requirements include:

Background qualifications include:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree from a leading university, preferably with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting
  • Ability to understand financial statements and financial ratio analysis
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with completing valuation analyses
  • One or more years of investment banking, corporate development or private equity experience is preferred

Associate

Associates hold a high level of responsibility on deal teams and are active contributors through every stage of a transaction process, from pitch to closing. Our Associates, working closely with Vetus’ most senior bankers:

  • Guide the Analysts in the development of financial models
  • Manage the development of initial pitch materials
  • Research potential financial and strategic buyers
  • Lead the initial drafting of offering memoranda
  • Coordinate transaction due diligence processes
  • Analyze offers and participate in negotiations
  • Support the process through the closing of the deal

As a Vetus associate, you will have significant exposure to C-level executives and gain significant hands-on transaction experience. Importantly, Associates are encouraged to participate in new business development initiatives and gain sector-specific knowledge.

Background qualifications include:

  • MBA degree from a leading university, preferably with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting
  • Two or more years of relevant investment banking or related M&A deal experience
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients and work both independently as well as in a team structure
  • Superior financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency with financial research tools
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High level of motivation, commitment, and dedication
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn

Vice President

Vetus Partners selectively hires highly experienced investment bankers to serve as Vice Presidents. Vice Presidents are an integral part of our execution teams from pitch through closing, and manage day-to-day transaction activities. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Writing and preparing transaction related documents and marketing materials (e.g., pitch books, corporate profiles, information memoranda, market data/analyses, etc.)
  • Analyzing offers and participating in negotiations
  • Preparing and delivering presentations
  • Conducting in-depth company and industry research supporting specific client and marketing opportunities, including the identification and evaluation of buy and sell targets
  • Financial modeling, including valuations
  • Evaluating new client opportunities and actively participating in new business development

Vice Presidents are expected to develop sector expertise and work closely with more senior bankers to begin to develop an active sector practice.

Background qualifications include:

  • Five or more years of current and relevant investment banking experience, including M&A and financing transaction experience
  • MBA degree from a leading university, preferably with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated track record of success in executing transactions
  • Strong ability to interact with clients and work both independently as well as in a team structure
  • Superior financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency with financial research tools
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High level of motivation, commitment, and dedication
